Carrier schedules for ocean freight from Cat Lai to Alexandria (Dekheila) show 1 sailing a week, operated by Maersk. Transit runs from 35 to 36 days, counted from the place of receipt.

There is no direct service. The Maersk schedule checked on 06/10/2026 shows two transshipments, at Tanjung Pelepas and then Port Said East. Both destination ports, Alexandria and Alexandria Dekheila, follow this routing.

Maersk takes cargo at Cat Lai or an ICD, then moves it to a deep-water port. Schedules run from the place of receipt, so transit days start there too.

When you pick a sailing, check the booking for the place of receipt, loading terminal, CY and the SI and VGM cut-offs. Cut-offs differ by sailing, so confirm with your lane owner before you book trucking.

At destination, AICT runs two separate terminals: Alexandria (code EGALY) and El Dekheila (code EGEDK). For Dekheila cargo, the booking must show EGEDK as the discharge terminal. A wrong terminal is hard to fix once the vessel has sailed.

Your Egyptian importer must hold an ACID on Nafeza before cargo is loaded on the vessel. The exporting side checks the CargoX account and sends documents through it.

Invoice, packing list, draft B/L, HS code and party details must match character for character. Sending the final document set does not mean the ACID has been approved. Ask the importer and the carrier which deadline applies to your shipment.

GOEIC requires registration of the factory or brand owner, but only for regulated product groups. The importer should check the product, the HS code and whether the registration is still valid.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade list (MOIT VNTR), Vietnam and Egypt currently have no FTA in force. Zero duty cannot be promised. The buyer should check each applicable duty by HS code, along with the origin documents required.

Sokhna is on the Red Sea, Alexandria on the Mediterranean. Across the 8 weeks checked, the Maersk schedule showed no sailings to Sokhna. The schedule gives no reason, and that does not prove the port is closed or that every carrier has suspended service.

A call at Port Said does not mean the vessel transits the Suez Canal. Ask the carrier for the actual routing of your chosen sailing.

For Tet, Ramadan and Eid, plan around factory and consignee holidays. Do not assume a fixed seasonal delay.
